MCEA Young Adult Division
MCEA's Young Adult Division works in helping Midland's Middle and High School students become healthy and aware teens, and young arts professionals. MCEA combines learning about the arts with teaching teens about themselves and the world around them, providing year-round training and performance opportunities for young adult performers.
MCEA presents workshops to educate youth on careers in the arts, provide art implements, and mentoring opportunities for young artists at partnering schools and organizations. Contact MCEA today to find out how to partner with us!

Summer Arts Camp
MCEA partners with local and regional artists and arts organizations to sponsor two three-week summer camps for middle and high school students. Each camper will sign up for classes in two content areas: Vocal Studies (Rap/Singing), Acting, Dance, and Creative Writing. Campers will have hands on experience in their art medium, work toward finding their voice as an artist, and learn the business of the arts.
Art Implements and Workshops
MCEA collaborates with schools and organizations to provide workshops and supplemental arts instruction for students of any age. This programming uses the arts to:
- learn about oneself (self-esteem, self-awareness)
- work with others and handle conflict
- create artistic work from conception to production,
- increase academic performance,
- increase knowledge of careers in the
arts
MCEA arts implements and workshops can be personalized to fit any program as a supplement to pre-existing services, or separate programming depending on the needs of the organization.
